Moise Kean is one of the new signings made this summer by Everton and he looks set to be tasked with the job of being the first-choice striker.
The Toffees signed the Italian attacker from Juventus this summer for around £27million (Sky Sports) and he’s arrived at Goodiosn Park to provide more of a goal threat.
He’s a 19-year-old that has an immense reputation as a talented youngster and is seen by many as a great addition to Marco Silva’s squad.
Kean scored eight goals in 21 senior games for Juventus and now looks set for a proper first-team shot in the Premier League.
Everton’s problems in front of goal have been well documented since the departure of Romelu Lukaku and Kean is likely to battle it out with Dominic Calvert-Lewin to lead the Toffees frontline.
Kean has been speaking ahead of the new season and his comments about his personal aim for the 2019-20 campaign should worry supporters.
“I’m a striker so my objective is to score goals, as many as I can. I don’t know now [my target], I will say seven as a minimum but I can score more,” Kean said in his press conference, as cited by the club’s official Youtube account.
Kean’s comments about setting a minimum target of seven goals should alarm Everton fans, as they are crying out for a 20-goal striker that can help them push for the European spots.
The Italy international is expected to hit the ground running at his new club, as he’s a sizeable investment that has pace, power and an eye for goal.
He may go on to surprise quite a few people and he’s a youngster that doesn’t want to set expectations too high, but he will be considered a failure if he doesn’t get into double figures in the new season.
It may have been a mistake to name a figure when it comes to setting targets and he just needs to try get off to a strong start and see where he ends up.
