Liverpool star Mohamed Salah is the best player in the world right now.
The Egypt international is having the greatest season of his life. He has been on fire from the start of the campaign and has already broken plenty of records.
Liverpool have one hand on the Premier League title now. They are 11 points above Arsenal at the moment, and Salah has played a huge role in helping them achieve that.
Now, every time the winger steps on the pitch, defenders are terrified of him.
What Mohamed Salah does when defenders trash-talk
Every defender has their own way of dealing with whoever they come up against.
Some try to outmuscle the attackers, while others stay touch-tight with them and refuse to give them any space to move around.
Then, there are others who use trash-talking to try and get into their opponents’ heads. That may work against some attackers, but it won’t with everyone.
Salah has come up against many defenders who try to get him off his game by trash-talking, but the Egyptian does not let that faze him.
Instead, the Liverpool star warns the defender that he will make him ‘pay’ for that mistake.
Salah told TNT Sports: “If some of them try to trash talk, I don’t like to engage.
“I tell them: ‘I don’t need much, I just need one chance, just one chance, and you will pay for it’.”

How many goals and assists does Salah need to make Premier League history?
Salah is having an unbelievable campaign.
The 32-year-old has scored 30 goals and provided 21 assists already this season, and there’s plenty of time for him to add more to his tally.
In the Premier League, Salah has directly contributed to 41 goals so far this term.
| Games | Goals | Assists | |
| Mohamed Salah in the Premier League in 2024/25 | 27 | 25 | 16 |
The current record for most direct goal contributions in a single Premier League season – 47 – is jointly held by Alan Shearer and Andy Cole.
However, that happened in a 42-game season.
In a 38-game campaign, the record for most goals and assists in a single Premier League season is held by Thierry Henry and Erling Haaland – 44.
Salah needs just four more direct goal contributions to break that record. We won’t be surprised if he does that in the next two games.
