Mohamed Elyounoussi has told the Ladbrokes Social Club that is “happy” at Celtic and has left the door open for a permanent move to Parkhead – but stated that he is not thinking about his future at the moment.

Elyounoussi joined Celtic for £16million (Scotsman) in the summer of 2018, but managed just 19 appearances for the Saints – failing to score or provide an assist. It saw the Norway international join Celtic on a season-long loan in the summer.

Since moving to the Scottish champions. Elyounoussi has been on fire. Indeed, he has scored seven goals in 12 games from the left flank – and created six more. He won the Scottish Player of the Month award for October.

Elyounoussi, who earns a whopping £60,000 a week on his Southampton contract (Spotrac), was asked about a permanent move to Celtic and the winger stated that he is happy at Celtic – but is concentrating on training and his next match.

“It’s not up to me,” Elyounoussi said. “I’m really happy here, Celtic is an amazing club. But I haven’t really thought about my future yet – i’m just thinking about next training, next game and do my best. Then in the summer, we’ll see.”

TBR’s view – Celtic simply have to sign Elyounoussi permanently

Brendan Rodgers signed Scott Sinclair in the summer of 2016 and the former Manchester City star scored 25 goals in 50 games during 2016-17 – laying on 11 assists. He won the Player of the Season during that campaign.

Sinclair shined the next season, but has since deteriorated and is currently being frozen out by Neil Lennon. A replacement was needed and in Elyounoussi, Celtic have got the perfect player. They desperately need to sign him permanently.
