Mohamed Elneny has told BeIN Sports as quoted by Turkish Football – that he believes Arsenal star Mesut Ozil could join Fenerbahce when he finally decides to leave north London.

Elneny is currently on loan at Besiktas and has impressed in Turkey. The Egyptian was even linked with a move to AC Milan in January, but he has since remained at Besiktas. It remains to be seen whether he will return to Arsenal this summer.

Meanwhile, Ozil has become a regular in the Arsenal side again. The appointment of Mikel Arteta has seen Ozil start all nine Premier League games under the Spaniard, and he even scored his first goal of the season against Newcastle this month.

But given he earns an enormous £350,000 a week (Spotrac) at The Emirates, it is believed he will be considered flexible in order for Arsenal to get him off the wage bill. His contract ends in 2021, and Elneny reckons he will move to Fener.

TBR’s view – Surely Ozil can do better than Fenerbahce?

Fener sit way down in sixth place and eight points behind leaders Istanbul Basaksehir. The chances of the club getting into Europe hangs by a thread, while the quality of the SuperLig is far beneath Ozil.

Yes, he may have a fancy for Fener, but surely he still has time in one of Europe’s biggest leagues before moving to Turkey. When the time is right, though, Elneny is probably right – in that Ozil will join Fener.
