Mo Salah asked which Real Madrid star he’d take at Liverpool

Mo Salah has issued a superb response after being asked by Marca which Real Madrid player he would like to sign for Liverpool.

The two clubs are gearing up for the first-leg of their Champions League quarter-final next week. It is, of course, a repeat of the 2018 final which Los Blancos won 3-1.

The game obviously likely includes plenty of bad memories for Salah. As well as the result, the Egyptian had to come off just after the half-hour mark after a challenge from Sergio Ramos led to Salah dislocating his shoulder.

A lot has changed since then however. Jurgen Klopp’s men got their hands on the trophy a year later. And they would celebrate Premier League glory the following season.

And despite the problems they have endured this year, their Champions League form has been a shining light.

They largely breezed past RB Leipzig in the last 16. So it perhaps should come as little surprise to hear how Salah responded when asked which Madrid player he would take for Liverpool if given the chance.

“I think our team is good enough as it is and that’s it,” he told Marca.

It has not been an easy campaign for Zinedine Zidane’s men either. They sit third in La Liga, six points off Atletico Madrid.

Real did overcome Liverpool’s group-stage rivals Atalanta in the previous round. And the Reds will not take them lightly. But Klopp’s side surely have every reason to be confident heading into the tie.
