MLS and LA Liga Clash of the Titans

Los Angeles, California- The clash of the MLS and La Liga Titans will take place today at The University of Phoenix Stadium in Arizona. The Guiness International Champions Cup formerly known as The World Football Challenge is being hosted in the United States which includes teams from Spain, Italy, England and the United States.

The LA Galaxy spent their usual midweek training at the Stubhub Center in Carson while Real Madrid used the private field next to Wooden Center at the UCLA campus in Westwood.

The LA Galaxy suffered a tough loss last weekend in Colorado as they found themselves without their key veterans whom organize and keep the team unified. Unfortunately the LA Galaxy will be without these same men once again as Landon Donovan and Omar Gonzales are away on MLS All-star duty and Robbie Keane and Robbie Rogers are both still trying to get healthy. I do foresee the introduction of Juninho in the midfield and Leonardo in the defense to try and add some experience and control into the young squad.

Real Madrid arrived at the training facilities with their entire first team squad from last seasons La Liga play along with their new Technical Director Carlo Ancelotti. Real Madrid will be looking to adapt to their new Director during their Guiness International Champions Cup campaign as they prepare for La Liga to kick off August 17th.

One factor that will be playing a very key role in tomorrow’s match for both teams will be the weather. Both the LA Galaxy and Real Madrid  have been training in very cool coastal conditions as opposed to tomorrow’s projected 106 degrees Fahrenheit in Arizona. It will be very interesting how the teams will try to adapt to this factor as the players will literally be feeling the heat.
