Peter Bosz has given his verdict on Arsenal midfielder Kai Havertz.

The PSV Eindhoven manager has noted what people often do not understand about Havertz.

So, what has Peter Bosz said about Arsenal and Germany international midfielder Kai Havertz? Let’s take a look.

Praise for Arsenal and Germany star Kai Havertz

Well, Peter Bosz has been raving about Kai Havertz. The PSV Eindhoven manager worked with the 24-year-old Arsenal midfielder at Bayer Leverkusen, and he has spoken highly of him.

Havertz, who can also play as a forward and has even played as a left-back, came through the Bayer youth system and starred for the first team before moving to Chelsea in 2020.

Bosz was in charge of Bundesliga club Bayer from December 2018 until March 2021.

Arsenal signed Havertz from London and Premier League rivals Chelsea in the summer of 2023.

Bosz told The Athletic about Havertz: “Sometimes you have a player who is so good, like Kai, that you don’t have to say anything, the players are following him already. He is misunderstood. This guy does everything to win games.

“I was the guy (as a player) who made the tackles and everyone said I was 100 per cent, but that was me. Kai plays piano like Bach. I was like, ‘A footballer playing piano? I can’t believe it’. But he is really intelligent.

“When he left for Chelsea the next day, there was a box for every player and every staff member with his jersey and his name on the back. He didn’t have to but this is the person he is.”

Don’t make Kai Havertz the new Mesut Ozil

Kai Havertz has a very languid style. He does not seem to get very intense on the pitch.

That does not mean that he does not care. It is just how he is on the pitch. Carlo Ancelotti does not get flustered on the sidelines, but no one ever says that the Real Madrid boss does not care.

Mesut Ozil had a similar demeanour on the pitch. The former Arsenal and Real Madrid playmaker was often accused of not giving his best on the pitch or not trying enough.

That was not right. It was just how Ozil played his football. After all, Jose Mourinho rated him highly. So, please, let us not fall into that trap and start it all over again with Havertz.
