Tottenham Hotspur legend Graham Roberts has waxed lyrical about Dele Alli following his performance for Spurs in Wednesday night’s Europa League last-32 victory.
The England international hasn’t been in Jose Mourinho’s first-team plans for large parts of the season.
Indeed, he was reportedly eyeing a departure from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in January, but Daniel Levy reportedly blocked a loan move to Paris Saint-Germain.

Alli has impressed the manager in recent weeks, and in Wednesday’s Europa League last-32 second leg against Wolfsberger, he was not only given a start but took his chance superbly.
Named at No. 10 behind Carlos Vinicius, the £100,000-a-week star reminded everyone of his quality with a wonderful overhead kick after just 10 minutes, controlling and improvising from Matt Doherty’s ball into the box.
Alli then provided a superb assist early in the second half, crossing for Vinicius to thump home a header, and as a cherry on top, sent a great pass for Bale to sweep home Spurs’ third on the night en route to a 4-0 win.
And Roberts hopes the 24-year-old will be back in the starting XI for Sunday’s Premier League home meeting with Burnley:
Alli has made 17 appearances in all competitions for Spurs this season, and 239 overall.
