Arsenal have enjoyed an extremely impressive transfer window. A number of exciting signings have arrived at the Emirates Stadium to bolster Unai Emery’s squad.
18-year-old Brazilian winger Gabriel Martinelli arrived first, from Ituano. He was followed by centre-back William Saliba, who was snapped up for £27 million from Saint Etienne, before being loaned back out to the Ligue 1 club. Real Madrid midfielder Dani Ceballos then joined the north London outfit on loan, before Arsenal spent a club-record £72 million on Lille winger Nicolas Pepe.
On transfer deadline day, Arsenal further improved their defensive contingent. 22-year-old left-back Kieran Tierney was brought in for £25 million from Celtic. On top of that, experienced centre-back David Luiz was prised away from Chelsea.
There were outgoings too. Laurent Koscielny joined Bordeaux, and Everton split with £34 million for Arsenal academy product Alex Iwobi. Meanwhile, promising striker Eddie Nketiah was dispatched on loan to Leeds United to gain further first team experience.

The man behind these dealings for Arsenal was Raul Sanllehi. The Gunners’ head of football only joined the club last year, but has already had a huge impact. The former Barcelona chief has lots of contacts in the game and uses his network to negotiate and strike transfer deals.
Considering the doom and gloom that was present at the Emirates Stadium last season following their failure to qualify for the Champions League, the Spaniard has done brilliantly to restore some optimism.
Arsenal are certainly looking in far better shape heading into the new campaign. For that, fans and Emery have Sanllehi to thank.
Following the transfer deadline, plenty of Arsenal supporters took to Twitter to praise Sanllehi’s efforts.
