Liverpool have a remarkable knack of signing talented players, but they also have a great record of signing players with the right sort of attitude.

Indeed, while other top clubs have had plenty of behind-the-scenes issues with key players, Liverpool have, largely, been drama free in recent years.

While Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was causing problems at Arsenal and Pep Guardiola was falling out with Joao Cancelo, Liverpool have maintained harmony in their squad for a long time.

With more additions coming this summer, there’s a new batch of characters also being added to the Liverpool dressing room, and one of those is set to be Milos Kerkez.

Kerkez is set to join Liverpool in the near future, and according to Lewis Steele, speaking on his YouTube channel, the left-back has an interesting character.

Milos Kerkez’s attitude explained

Steele shared what he’s heard after getting character references on Kerkez.

The journalist says some people who have worked with Kerkez have been shocked by his attitude due to how boisterous and loud he is – in a good way.

However, in his youth days, Kerkez was seen to have negative attitude problems regarding being unable to focus or take on board what his coaches are saying.

“When he first came into the national team, people have told me they were shocked by his attitude, in a good way, he was boisterous and loud. People have said to me it won’t take him long to fit into the Liverpool dressing room, he will be a big mouth in the dressing room, in a good way, he will make friends, he won’t take long to settle in, he’s an extrovert,” Steele said.

“He’s had a rocky time in his youth career. I spoke to one person who said the reason he didn’t make it at Rapid Vienna’s academy was attitude problems in a bad way. In terms of he couldn’t focus and was hard to manage, but he seems to have snapped out of that.”

Liverpool players with past attitude problems

Liverpool don’t often sign players who are known to have attitude problems, but, in the past, they have had a few footballing bad boys on their books.

Liverpool players with past attitude problemsWhat happened
El Hadji DioufFell out with Steven Gerrard, spat at opposition fans
Mario BalotelliMultiple off-field incidents throughout Premier League career
Craig BellamyTraining ground fight with John Arne Riise
Luis SuarezBiting incidents, banned for incident with Patrice Evra
Jermaine PennantHad to wear electronic tag due to off-field incidents

Some of these players worked out better than others, it must be said.

El Hadji Diouf seriously fell out with Steven Gerrard at one point, and had serious discipline issues, while Jermaine Pennant had off-pitch issues too.

Mario Balotelli flopped at Liverpool, and his attitude issues have plagued his entire career.

However, some of Liverpool’s more infamous players ended up having brilliant careers. Luis Suarez became an all-time great after numerous issues, while Craig Bellamy carved out a fantastic career despite having training ground bust-ups at Liverpool.
