Mikel Arteta is doing ‘just fine’ as he continues his recovery, according to an update from his wife via social media today.
The Spaniard is currently in self-isolation after contracting the Covid-19 virus last week. Football moved to cancel all Premier League and EFL action until the 4th April following the news.

However, despite the mass global panic, Arteta’s wife, Lorena, has insisted that under normal circumstances, Arteta would still be at work given the symptoms he has experienced.
“My husband is feeling fine, he is well. It’s true that he had symptoms of the virus but the symptoms would have never stopped him from going to work in a normal situation,” Lorena said via Instagram.
“He would have just taken an ibuprofen or paracetamol and he would have gone to work so really, it’s nothing major.”
The news will from Lorena will be a positive boost for both the footballing authorities and fans, who will have been wanting to see Arteta make a full recovery.
Indeed, Arteta had already taken to social media himself previously. He insisted he was feeling better almost immediately but thanked fans for their positive messages.
Good news all around and hopefully more to come
This whole scenario is like something out of a nightmare at the moment.
However, when so many things seem negative, it is nice to see some positive news. It’s a nice touch from Arteta’s wife to take the time out to share how he is feeling.

Obviously, there is a wider concern around the world but football, and particularly, Arsenal fans, will have been desperate to know that their manager was doing well.
Hopefully, over the next few weeks and months, we can see an improvement. This counts not only for football but for the whole world.
It’s good news, then, to see high-profile names such as Arteta making a full recovery.
