Mikel Arteta's advice in training video is now incredible after what Arsenal's Bukayo Saka did for England yesterday
That form earned Saka a starting spot in England’s first game of the 2022 World Cup against Iran yesterday afternoon.
Saka repaid his manager’s faith with two goals in the 6-2 win. The first was a superb volley, and the second saw him cut in from the right and slot home a finish.
A recent video from F2 showed Arteta coaching pretty much a carbon copy of the type of finish Saka used to score the second goal.
Arteta video interesting in light of Saka finish
Saka has improved a great deal under Arteta, who has been a huge influence on the winger’s career as he has become a key player for club and country.
Perhaps he has been benefitting from the Spaniard’s coaching or perhaps he has been just taking it upon himself to get into those positions.
Either way, Saka earned his place in the side and will expect to keep it for the next game against the United States on Friday night.
Saka was taken off on a hat-trick yesterday, but that was an acknowledgement that bigger challenges lie ahead and there was no point risking an injury.
He made his World Cup debut and first tournament appearance since his Euro 2020 penalty miss, but there was no sign of any nerves.
Saka is currently the joint top goalscorer at the World Cup and if England go deep into the competition, he will hope to add to that tally.
