Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has positively claimed that teenage sensation Bukayo Saka is progressing in the right way, as well as explaining that he’s got the right people around him to keep his feet on the ground.
The 19-year-old has arguably been the most consistent performer for the Gunners so far this season and he’s just delivered back-to-back man of the match performances in the Premier League.
Saka provided the assist on Tuesday night for Alexandre Lacazette’s goal in a 1-0 win over Brighton, while three days before he scored in a 3-1 victory against London rivals Chelsea.
He’s a versatile youngster that can play in a left wing-back position if needed, something he’s done for the senior England team.
But the skilful left-footer is perhaps more naturally suited to playing in attacking wide positions and he’s been the most creative threat for Arsenal of late with his directness in the final third.
There is a lot of talk currently going on about the quality of rising star Saka, but Gunners manager Arteta has appeared to dampen expectations on him and feels he’s progressing in the right way.
“I would like everybody to be cautious and let him be and let him develop. I think he’s having the right progression. I think he’s got the right people around him in his house in his entourage,” Arteta said, as quoted by Football.London.
“And then he’s got the right teammates as well to support him all the time, give him confidence, keep his feet on the floor, but as well to give him support and confidence. And then hopefully we can be the right coaches around him, be the right club to see the player that he can be in the future.”

TBR’s View:
Saka’s skill and pace is exactly the kind of thing that Arsenal supporters love, which is why he’s a nailed-on starter in Arteta’s XI.
He was superb with his first-team breakthrough last year, but that was at a time where he was playing with far less pressure on his shoulders and he was free to express himself.
The speedster has though handled the more detailed attention on him so far this season and he’s dragging the levels up of players around him.
