Mikel Arteta surely has to recall Arsenal midfielder Dani Ceballos against Leeds

Arsenal face Leeds United in the Premier League this weekend, and the Gunners are in for a stern test.

Marcelo Bielsa’s Whites have been fairly impressive since their return to the big-time, and currently sit 15th in the table on 10 points.

They gave Liverpool a very good game on the opening day, losing narrowly 4-3, and also held Manchester City at Elland Road.

Arteta will know to respect Leeds, and the Spaniard will be mulling over how best to set up against one of the fittest sides in the league.

The West Yorkshire outfit are known for their relentless pressing and work-rate off the ball, and so Arteta needs to have players starting who can deal with that.

One man he, therefore, definitely needs to bring back into the fold, is Dani Ceballos who has not started the last couple of Premier League games.

Arteta preferred to use Thomas Partey and Mohamed Elneny together against Manchester United and Aston Villa, although Ceballos did replace the injured Ghanaian at half-time against Dean Smith’s side.

One of Ceballos’ best qualities is his ability to play effectively in tight spaces.

His technical quality is high and he can often be seen escaping situations where other players would no doubt lose the ball.

The £52,000-a-week star’s (Spotrac) press-resistant style makes him the ideal pick against Leeds, who are a pressing machine under Bielsa.

With Elneny unavailable after a positive Covid test and Partey potentially an injury doubt, Ceballos may indeed get the nod.
