Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has shared some good news on Thomas Partey as he continues on his road to recovery.
Partey has not played for the Gunners for over four months now, due to a serious thigh problem which forced him to undergo surgery.
The 30-year-old had been looking to make his return to action at the start of February, but he suffered an issue “in a very similar area”.
This has kept Partey on the sidelines for more time, but Arteta has revealed that the Arsenal midfielder is on the right track towards a return to action.

Speaking to football.london ahead of the Gunners’ trip to Burnley on Saturday, Arteta said Partey is “on the field already” and predicted a return in the next few weeks.
Arteta said: “There’s not big set backs (in terms of fresh injury worries).Thomas Partey is progressing really well…. it’s looking very good and he’s on the field already.”
Asked whether this would mean a return in a couple of weeks, the Arsenal boss replied: “Hopefully.”
Thomas Partey will hope to turn a corner as he nears Arsenal return to action – TBR View
Partey has not played for Arsenal since 8 October. Meanwhile, his last outing for Ghana was on 18 October. He has made just five appearances for Arteta’s side this season.
Partey has missed 51 Premier League games out of 138 during his time at Arsenal. This is a worryingly high amount, particularly for a club fighting for the title.
It’s great to hear the ‘fantastic‘ midfielder is on the right track and Arteta seems optimistic, so let’s hope he can get back to fully fitness and turn a corner.
On his day, he’s unplayable and a key asset for the Gunners. If he can put these fitness issues behind him, he could make a real difference in the north Londoners’ pursuit of silverware.
