Mikel Arteta has lauded the performance of Aaron Ramsdale after Arsenal’s latest win, with the goalkeeper’s display labelled outstanding by the Gunners boss – in comments reported by Football London.
Ramsdale needed to produce a stunning performance on Sunday. Arsenal certainly rode their luck to hold onto a 1-0 victory and extend their lead at the top of the Premier League table.

Some of the key moments went Arsenal’s way thanks to Leeds mistakes. But when he was needed, Ramsdale absolutely stepped up for the visitors.
Aaron Ramsdale was outstanding
The goalkeeper made a brilliant reaction save from Pascal Struijk during the first-half. But it was after the break where the England international went to another level.

Patrick Bamford must have felt that he would never score. And while Arteta probably felt that there were not too many standout displays, he was understandably full of praise for Ramsdale’s performance.
“We expected some very hectic and chaotic moments,” he said, as reported by Football London. “The way they play, the atmosphere that is produced in this stadium.
“Really pleased we managed to handle it, making some good decisions and with a bit of luck, and with some great saves from Aaron, who was outstanding today. Happy to win again.”
Ramsdale seems to thrive in a cauldron-like atmosphere. The Leeds fans gave him plenty of stick once again. And that probably helped bring the best out of him.
However, that may be doing a disservice to how good Ramsdale can be. He was there when William Saliba had a rare off-day. And he will feel that he deserved to hold onto his clean sheet.
Arsenal will almost take more confidence from how they managed to get the win while being so poor. The ability to keep winning when not at their best is going to make a massive difference if a title race does begin at some stage.
Right now, it does appear that Arsenal are absolutely going to be in the mix this season.
