Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta, was full of praise for his team as they smashed five past Norwich City but reserved an extra mention for Martin Odegaard.

Odegaard has hit a fine run of form in recent weeks. He created the two goals in the opening 45 at Carrow Road, and has now contributed six times in his last six games in front of goal. The Norwegian signed in the summer for around £30m after impressing in a loan spell last term.

At the moment, he is keeping Emile Smith Rowe out of the side, with Martinelli and Saka flanking him behind Alex Lacazette in attack. And his manager, Mikel Arteta, admitted after the game that Odegaard is helping a lot at the moment.

“I think he is playing fantastically well. He helps us a lot, he glides the team together and I am really pleased with him,” the boss told Arsenal Media.

“It was very good [today]. A really traditional day in this country and to play football in this atmosphere, it was great.”

Odegaard will now get a rest after Arsenal’s game with Wolves this week was called off already. Once again, Covid has struck, with Wolves unable to field enough first-teamers.

TBR’s View: Odegaard Now The Main Man For Arsenal

The upturn in form from both Arsenal and Martin Odegaard has been staggering. He’s no longer looking a bit lost and without confidence. Instead, he is pulling the strings and laying on chance after chance.

Of course, there’ll be tougher tests. Norwich were, in truth, woeful. However, Odegaard still did the business when it mattered.

After promising so much from being a teen right through to the odd flash in Madrid, it seems it is Arsenal who are seeing the best Odegaard. Eventually, that £30m fee might prove to be an absolute bargain.
