Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has praised the form of Dani Ceballos in recent games and stated that he’s now performing much better.

The Gunners signed the central midfielder in the summer on a season-long loan from Real Madrid and he hasn’t quite made the kind of impact he may have liked.

He was a regular in the side at the beginning of the campaign, before suffering an injury setback in November and missing a couple of months on the sidelines.

The 23-year-old has had to be patient following his return to fitness, but in recent games has come back into the fold for the North London club and is showing why he’s still on the books at Madrid.

He’s played a role in each of the last five games across all competitions for Arsenal and is arguably in best form since his switch to the Emirates Stadium.

Arteta has singled out Ceballos ahead of Arsenal’s game against West Ham at the weekend.

“I’m really happy with Dani and what he’s bringing to the team right now. It took him a while after his injury to get to the level that he has and that I’ve seen in the past. He’s performing much better now and that’s why he’s playing much more games,” Arteta said, as quoted by Football.London.

Ceballos will be returning to Madrid as it stands in the summer when his loan expires, but for now he can still have a big role to play in the remainder of the season and he’s starting to find form.

The Spanish midfielder has looked far more settled in the past month with his surroundings and has taken his game up a gear.

He is a pass master that has the vision to open the door in the final third and is looking far more direct.
