Mikel Arteta now shares what Arsenal’s physio said to him last night about Bukayo Saka’s injury

Arsenal star Bukayo Saka seemed to have suffered an injury against Sevilla, and Mikel Arteta has revealed what the club’s physio told him over the radio last night.

The Gunners made light work of the Spanish side. It was an easy game for Arteta’s men, who were dominant from start to finish. Arsenal star Saka was named the Player of the Match, but seeing him hobble off the pitch in pain was a worrying sight.

Mikel Arteta shares what Arsenal’s physio told him about Bukayo Saka’s injury

Bukayo Saka was one of Arsenal’s best players against Sevilla last night.

The 22-year-old assisted Leandro Trossard‘s opener in the first half and then managed to score a lovely goal himself after the break.

Arsenal fans and Mikel Arteta were delighted with Saka’s performance at that point, but the Englishman went to ground in pain around his ankle.

The physio ran onto the pitch to treat Saka and the winger continued. However, just a few minutes later, he went down again, and Arteta has now revealed what the Arsenal doctor told him over the radio at that moment that forced him to take the Englishman off.

“It was just a kick,” Arteta said in his post-match press conference, as per Arsenal.com.

“And, I was told by the physios on the radio that he wasn’t happy to continue. So, he will have some discomfort, but hopefully, I want to assume that he will be okay.”

Arsenal can rest Saka on Saturday

After returning to winning ways last night, Arsenal have a fairly easy game coming up against Vincent Kompany’s Burnley.

We don’t want to say it’s a guaranteed win for the Gunners, but Mikel Arteta’s men will be the favourites against a side who have won just one of their first 11 games of the season.

Arteta rested a few players when Arsenal took on another newly-promoted team, Sheffield United, and the Gunners won that game 5-0.

We think Arteta can afford to rest a few of his key players against Burnley this Saturday as well, and Saka, even if he is fit, doesn’t have to play.
