Mikel Arteta praises Arsenal duo William Saliba and Gabriel

Well, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has been speaking about William Saliba and Gabriel ahead of the match against Liverpool.

Arsenal will lock horns with Liverpool away from home at Anfield in the Premier League on Saturday evening.

Brazil international centre-back Gabriel and France international central defender Saliba are set to start for the Gunners.

Arsenal boss Arteta has said that he is very pleased by how the two defenders have improved and developed, adding that they are getting better and better.

Arteta told Arsenal’s official website when asked how much the relationship of Gabriel and Saliba has improved: “I think they clicked straight away. That’s something that I was really hopeful for because when you talk about partnerships, chemistry is key.

“There is an understanding, they complement each other in a great way, everybody has a role and it’s very clear and well accepted.

“They are getting better and better, still super young for the position that they play in and they can still get better.”

Big game for Saliba and Gabriel vs Liverpool

I think that William Saliba and Gabriel will have to be at their very best against Liverpool at Anfield. Arsenal need the two centre-backs in top form to win the Premier League match on Saturday evening.

Liverpool have scored 36 goals in 17 Premier League matches this season. Egyptian star Mohamed Salah has found the back of the net 15 times in all competitions for the Reds this campaign.

Darwin Nunez can also be a handful, even though David Seaman would pick Arsenal striker Gabriel Jesus over him.

Saliba and Gabriel have done well for Arsenal this season. The North London club have conceded 15 goals in 17 Premier League games this campaign.
