Mikel Arteta makes Martin Odegaard claim after Arsenal move
Mikel Arteta has told the official Arsenal website that Martin Odegaard has a phenomenal work ethic, and suggested that he has exceptional quality.
Odegaard is gearing up for what would be a second Gunners debut in the near future.
The Norwegian sealed a permanent move to the Emirates last week. It comes after a very encouraging loan spell during the second-half of last season.
His return has provided a much-needed boost around the Emirates. And the fans will be hoping that his move inspires Arsenal to put their disappointing start to the new campaign behind them.
Arteta certainly seems confident that he is going to be able to make a significant impact back in North London.
“I think he makes the rest of the players around him better,” he told the club’s official website. “His work ethic is phenomenal, the way he goes about his job, his professionalism, his character, he’s a very likeable person.
“I think he has fitted really well into the culture and then for the way we want to play he’s a player with exceptional qualities to add to them.”
Odegaard has point to prove after Arsenal return amid Arteta praise
There is no question that Odegaard has the potential to be an outstanding signing for Arteta’s men.
There were times when he was unplayable during his loan spell. However, there were also occasions when he was a lot less influential.
And that will prevent fans from getting too carried away about his return – particularly with the side struggling right now.
He definitely has a point to prove. He will want to show that Real Madrid were wrong not to use him more and then let him leave permanently.
But he will also want to prove that he can be Arsenal’s talisman in the coming years.
Arteta is seemingly confident that he will step up.
