Arsenal were hard at work in training yesterday ahead of their game against West Ham United, and young Ethan Nwaneri was spotted among the senior group.

The Gunners will go back to the top of the Premier League table if they beat the Hammers tonight. Mikel Arteta will expect nothing less from his side, and if things go really well, young Nwaneri, who was in first-team training yesterday, could get some game time.

Ethan Nwaneri spotted in Arsenal’s first-team training

Arsenal have quite a few injury issues to deal with and to make things worse, Kai Havertz will be unavailable for the game against West Ham tonight.

The German has been really good for the Gunners over the last two months. He has come up with some important goals, but he picked up his fifth yellow card of the season in the game against Liverpool last weekend.

That means Havertz is suspended for the clash at the Emirates tonight, and Mikel Arteta has a decision to make over who will replace him in the starting lineup.

We think Emile Smith Rowe should be given an opportunity, but Leandro Trossard could play in that position too, while Jorginho could come in and push Declan Rice forward.

Irrespective of who starts in place of Havertz, there will be a spot available on the bench for an academy player, and young Ethan Nwaneri could get the nod after training with the first team yesterday ahead of the derby tonight.

The 16-year-old can be seen taking on Gabriel Magalhaes in the picture below.

Nwaneri is a huge talent

Ethan Nwaneri is one of Arsenal’s most talented young players at the moment.

The midfielder, still just 16 years old, has been exceptional for the Gunners’ youth sides, with Jack Wilshere even branding him as ‘unplayable‘ not too long ago.

Mikel Arteta also rates Nwaneri really highly and recently compared the teenager to a young Wilshere, who was one of the finest talents in the country back then.

Nwaneri could get on the Arsenal bench tonight, and if the Gunners are cruising at around the 75th minute, he could even get on the pitch.
