Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta called up young Taylor Foran to first-team training amid uncertainty over Takehiro Tomiyasu’s fitness ahead of the game against Luton Town.

The Gunners are in a fantastic position in the Premier League table. They are two points clear of Liverpool and three above Manchester City at the top of the table right now. Arteta may make a few changes for the game tonight, and if Tomiyasu cannot make it, young Foran may get himself a seat on the bench.

Taylor Foran called up to Arsenal’s first-team training

Arsenal have a crazy run of fixtures coming up and they need all the help they can get.

The Gunners play seven games in the next 26 days in what will be an extremely hectic period, and Mikel Arteta will know he needs to rotate.

Takehiro Tomiyasu has been in incredible form for Arsenal recently, but the Japan international was withdrawn in the game against Wolves after he appeared to have injured himself.

Arteta is hoping he will be fine for the game tonight, but Arsenal don’t have to risk him at all if he isn’t fully fit – Ben White can step in for him.

If Tomiyasu can’t even make the bench, young Taylor Foran could get an opportunity, and the 20-year-old defender was given the chance to rub shoulders with the first-team in training yesterday.

Foran is a hugely talented young player, and if he has caught Arteta’s eye behind the scenes, he must be doing something right.

Taylor Foran is a ‘powerful’ defender

Taylor Foran first joined Arsenal back in 2012, when he was just nine years old.

The young defender has made huge strides with the youth sides over the years, and many in Arsenal’s academy believe he has what it takes to succeed at the top level.

Arsenal’s official website describes Foran as ‘a powerful central defender with an impressive passing range’. He has also been hailed as a ‘natural leader’.

Foran has a bright future ahead of him, and it will be interesting to see if he will make the bench tonight after training under Arteta yesterday.
