Arsenal take on Leicester City this weekend and their manager, Mikel Arteta, has admitted that he and his staff have had a firm eye on Foxes newboy, Patson Daka.
Daka joined Leicester in the summer. The Midlands club beat off a host of competition to land the Zambian, including Arsenal. Since his arrival, Daka has slowly worked his way into proceedings under Brendan Rodgers. He scored four in a single game just last week, too.

Arsenal are likely to find Jamie Vardy starting in attack this weekend. But when asked about his thoughts on Daka and that previous Arsenal interest, Gunners boss Arteta admitted he is a player who’s been watched.
“Yes we’ve been aware of him. I think Leicester have been really strong and clever in their recruitment over the years – that they have been able to build the team that they have. He’s looks a really strong player,” Arteta told his pre-match presser.
Arsenal’s recent upturn in form has seen them clamber up the league table after a torrid start. A win tomorrow will see the Gunners go above Leicester and on level points with the top four.
TBR’s View: Patson Daka set to haunt Arsenal?
He certainly has the potential to do so. When you talk about ideal long-term replacements for Jamie Vardy, you have to say Daka fits the profile.
Strong as an ox, lightning quick, and with good movement at such an early age already, Daka looks a shrewd capture by Leicester. Certainly, he could be one who Arsenal regret not landing.
The good news for the Gunners is that Arteta should have full lowdown on Daka having watched him so much. That should help his side on the defensive side of things, should Daka play.
Arsenal fans, then, will hope that Daka isn’t the sort of player who likes to score against those who’ve expressed an interest before.
