Arsenal have to unleash striker who simply loves playing against Tottenham this afternoon

Arsenal will go in search of a third Premier League win on the spin against Tottenham this afternoon. In Alexandre Lacazette, Mikel Arteta might just have a trump card up his sleeve.

The Gunners started the season in abysmal fashion. They were beaten in their first three games without scoring a goal, with the pressure intensifying on the boss.

Since the return of club football, however, Arsenal have been vastly improved. They defeated Norwich and Burnley both 1-0 and also smashed AFC Wimbledon in the Carabao Cup.

Things are on the up but a win today would certainly go a long way towards a suggestion that a corner is being turned.

Every Premier League Team's Best Player Now Vs. 7 Years Ago

If Arteta is serious about getting a win this afternoon, he has to start Lacazette, with the Frenchman seemingly born to score goals against Tottenham!

Only West Ham and West Brom have been on the wrong end of Lacazette’s quality more often than Tottenham.

The 30-year-old has scored four goals against Arsenal’s fierce North London rivals, including one in the 2-1 win for the Gunners last time the two sides met.

Lacazette was the captain on that occasion. He fired 17 goals in all competitions last season and surprised plenty of people with such a return.

This time around, it’s been more of a struggle. Arteta has preferred other options, with the £182,000-a-week player featuring for just 31 minutes in the Premier League.

Time for Arteta to unleash Arsenal secret weapon Lacazette

Given his goal haul, the talisman perhaps isn’t ‘secret’ as such. Given that he’s hardly played this season, however, Tottenham could be caught cold by his presence in the starting eleven.

It’s about time some respect was thrown on Lacazette’s name. He has come in for some serious criticism during his time at the Emirates Stadium with much of it unjust.

In 129 appearances for Arsenal, the striker has scored 67 goals and claimed 29 assists.

Lacazette led Arsenal to some big points last season and Arteta simply has to unleash the 16-cap talisman against Tottenham this afternoon.
