What Miguel Almiron did at full-time as Newcastle beat Leicester will amuse the Toon Army

Newcastle United saw off Leicester City today with a late goal from Bruno Guimaraes proving enough to send St James’ Park home happy.

Guimaraes was in fine form once again for the Toon and delivered when it mattered, heading in a late winner to all but ensure Newcastle will be playing Premier League football next season.

At the end of the game, St James’ Park was a great sight to behold. Fans sang Hey Jude and flags were being waved by the bucket load as Guimaraes and co celebrated in front of the home faithful. However, those who provide the flags to the home end might not be overly impressed with a certain Miguel Almiron, who took it upon himself to take one #around the pitch…and then down the tunnel!

Of course, this will be taken in good jest by Newcastle fans. But one of the big discussion points on Twitter in recent weeks among fans has been certain supporters taking flags home after games without permission.

On this occasion, it will probably be let go and Newcastle fans will be happy to see Almiron loving the celebrations.

As he came off the pitch, Kieran Trippier clearly loved it as well, as he pointed at Almiron with a smile as he approached the tunnel.

This is what it’s all about for Newcastle United fans. They just want players to put in good performances, work hard, and then enjoy being at the club. Under Eddie Howe, the players certainly seem to be doing that right now.

Almiron’s little flag robbery was just a nice moment really. He’ll no doubt give the flag back to its owners in the end but the Toon Army will love to see him being so involved in the celebrations.
