A number of Newcastle United have bemoaned speculation claiming the Magpies are planning talks with Frank Lampard.
According to The Sun, the new Newcastle owners have the former Chelsea and Derby boss on their managerial shortlist.
The outlet claims talks could potentially start as soon as this week, with Lampard keen on a return to the dugout.

Steve Bruce is currently in charge of the Newcastle first team but he is reportedly set to be sacked in the coming days.
According to The Telegraph, this could even be before the Magpies host Tottenham at St James’ Park on Sunday.
And Lampard is apparently a frontrunner for the Newcastle reins.
The 43-year-old began his managerial career at Derby in 2018 and got the Rams to within a whisker of promotion to the Premier League.
Lampard also beat Manchester United in the third round of the League Cup in 2018.
He then took the reins at Chelsea in 2019, led them to fourth in the Premier League and the FA Cup final, despite a one-window transfer embargo.
The Blues subsequently sacked him in January this year, replacing him with Thomas Tuchel.
Here is what some Newcastle fans have made of links – and potential talks – with Lampard:
