Mido slams Daniel Levy on Twitter amid Tottenham manager search
Former Tottenham star Mido has launched a scathing attack of chairman Daniel Levy as the club’s search for a new manager continues.
The Egyptian spent two seasons in North London, arriving initially on loan from Roma in 2005.
He scored 20 goals during his time at Tottenham from 63 appearances before moving to Middlesbrough in 2007.
Clearly Mido wasn’t the most technically gifted player to ever pull on the shirt. He did, however, always give his all for the team.
Now, clearly still fond of his former club, he has hammered Levy for how his runs Tottenham.
The club’s managerial search is still ongoing after talks with Antonio Conte broke down over the weekend.
Mido isn’t surprised though, attacking Levy on Twitter.
Several high-profile names have been linked with the Tottenham position. Conte joined Mauricio Pochettino and Erik ten Hag in being heavily touted for the position.
It’s now back to the drawing board though. It seems unlikely that Conte will reconsider and Levy must have a plan.
A return to land Pochettino would be bizarre, although it might please a disgruntled fan base.
One thing that hasn’t really been mentioned is whether the Argentine would consider working with Levy again.
Clearly there was a breakdown last time around and Pochettino has plenty to ponder.
Mido is right: Tottenham face battle to appoint high-profile boss
With each passing day is appears as though another boss is scrubbed off Tottenham’s shortlist.
That doesn’t bode well and it must be a worry just how long Spurs’ search for a new boss is taking.
Plans need to be put in place for next season and Levy is running out of time to get this right.
It would appear Tottenham are going to be forced into contingency plans and that won’t be easy.
Spurs are desperate to revive their fortunes but face a fight to appoint a manager their ambition craves.
