Mido posts on Twitter as Tottenham beat Arsenal, teases one Gunners player

Mido has underlined his delight on Twitter as Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham Hotspur earned an excellent win over Arsenal in Sunday’s north London derby – and teased an Arsenal player for a crucial moment during the clash.

Spurs and Arsenal came into the match with both clubs enduring difficult seasons, both looking to cling on in the race to qualify for at least Europa League football. Mourinho had never lost a home game against Arsenal.

It remained that way, despite Arsenal taking the lead. Alexandre Lacazette’s pile driver was quickly cancelled out by Son Heung-min after a horrendous pass by Sead Kolasinac – which inadvertently played Son through on goal.

Arsenal dominated possession and hit the woodwork through Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, but Toby Alderweireld scored from a Son corner to win 2-1. Mido was joyous on Twitter, and teased Arsenal defender Shkodran Mustafi.

Mido was likely to be laughing at the 28-year-old German World Cup winner for giving the ball away late on, and then sliding in on Harry Kane – but getting nowhere near player or ball.

TBR’s view – Can Tottenham qualify for Europe?

Spurs have a decent run-in. They take on Newcastle and Crystal Palace with both sides seemingly safe from relegation but with little to play for. They also take on an out-of-form Leicester, who lost to Bournemouth on Sunday.

Eighth place could end up proving to be qualification for the Europa League. But given Spurs’ run-in, surely they will be looking above than eighth, with Sheffield United in seventh two points ahead, and Wolves in sixth, three ahead.

The win against Arsenal was a crucial one, and hands Tottenham a huge chance.
