'Midfield would’ve been in shambles without him': 'Impressive' stat has some Tottenham fans lauding 'machine'
Some Tottenham Hotspur fans were lauding Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg after a statistic about the Denmark international emerged.
The Danish midfielder and Southampton’s James Ward-Prowse are the only two outfield players to have played every single minute of this season’s Premier League campaign.
Hojbjerg completed a move from the Saints to north London for just £15m last summer and has been a key figure in front of the back-four ever since. He was praised for his performance over arch-rivals Arsenal back in December with Jamie Redknapp and Gary Neville complimenting him for settling in after a rocky start to life in north London, lauding his dirty work.
Despite his ever-present nature, the midfielder couldn’t stop Spurs from finishing outside the Champions League and Europa League places. Ryan Mason’s men had to settle for seventh place and a spot in the newly-created Europa Conference League.
Ever team needs a reliable within their starting XI.
Chelsea have it with Cesar Azpilicueta whilst rivals Arsenal have it in the form of Granit Xhaka with both players rarely missing game.
The Lilywhites are incredibly blessed to possess the 25-year-old, who has a staggering level of fitness to last an entire term.
Here are how Spurs fans reacted to the stat…
