Rangers are currently preparing for a crucial Europa League decider on Thursday night.

Steven Gerrard’s men have a tricky away test against Rapid Vienna but a victory would see them leapfrog the Austrians and qualify for the knockout stage of the competition.

But ahead of this important clash on Thursday, there is an injury concern for Gerrard to consider.

Ryan Kent limped off in Rangers’ draw with Dundee at the weekend and he is a doubt for this Thursday.

Gerrard has been vague about Kent’s injury, calling it an “issue”, according to The Daily Record.

But the 22-year-old’s absence is a major blow for Rangers with the on-loan Liverpool winger causing problems with his pace and skill.

This is the perfect chance for the 18-year-old sensation to endear himself to fans and establish himself as a regular.

Middleton came through the ranks at Norwich and has been impressive when given an opportunity for the Gers.

With five goals this season, the teenager actually has better statistics than Kent, as per Who Scored.

The Scotland under-21 international is regarded as a top talent for the future.

But if he can send Rangers into the knockout stages of the Europa League, he will surely convince Gerrard he is ready for a starting role each week.
