Middlesbrough could cash in on Daniel Ayala this January, according to a report by TEAMtalk.
A trio of Championship clubs are lurking after being alerted to Ayala’s contract situation. With his current deal expiring next summer, Middlesbrough might be forced to sell him in January to avoid losing him for nothing.
Leeds United, Fulham and Stoke City are all reportedly keen on Ayala. The Championship trio believe they can land Ayala for a cut-price deal. With Middlesbrough struggling in the league, this would be another blow for Jonathan Woodgate’s men.

Ayala has played over 200 games for Boro since joining from Norwich City in 2014. The 29-year-old is a regular at the back for Middlesbrough but they cannot afford to keep him.
Middlesbrough fans flocked to Twitter to express their disappointment at this latest news. After 16 games, Boro are in the relegation zone and have been poor this season. Losing Ayala would knock the confidence even more.
Here are some tweets from Boro fans after Ayala was linked with a January exit.
