Wolves are set for a mid-season trip to Marbella after tomorrow night’s FA Cup fourth round replay at home to Shrewsbury, according to the Express and Star.
After Nuno Santo’s side look to set up a fifth round clash away against Championship outfit Bristol City, the Portuguese will reportedly take his side away for a few days until their Premier League match against Newcastle a week today.
They report that Wolves took a similar break last season, during their second tier promotion push. Last January, on the back of a four-game winless run – their worst spell of the season – Wolves went to Marbella before coming back and securing three straight victories.
That trip did the trick to the extent that Santo is looking for a repeat impact this season, and the result may well be a renewed assault on FA Cup glory.

Wolves are comfortably safe from relegation and although a seventh-placed finish is definitely on the cards, cup glory would be far sweeter and more memorable for the Old Gold.
And with only a handful of Premier League sides left in, and two matches against EFL sides standing between Wolves and the last eight, a reinvigorated side has every chance of going on a cup run.
That’s if the mid-season break can work its magic again – and there’s no reason why it wouldn’t – and if Wolves learn their lesson from the initial tie and treat Shrewsbury with respect to navigate the replay.
