Micky Hazard singled out Tottenham midfielder Tanguy Ndombele for huge praise after his side secured a win in the Carabao Cup semi-finals on Tuesday night.

Spurs put in a professional display against Championship opposition Brentford and will face either Manchester United or Manchester City in April’s final.

Moussa Sissoko’s first-half header put the Premier League outfit ahead, while Heung-Min Son scored his 16th goal of the season across all competitions to secure a 2-0 victory at home.

The North London club are 90 minutes away from a first piece of silverware since 2008 and their manager Jose Mourinho has a perfect record of four out of four in League Cup finals.

Former Spurs player Hazard believed that Ndombele was one of the standout performers last night.

He suggested that the 24-year-old looked extremely sharp in the centre of the park and claimed that he bossed the game.

TBR’s View:

Despite a rough start to life under Mourinho, Ndombele is firmly in the manager’s good books this season and is now delivering eye-catching displays regularly for Spurs.

The box-to-box central midfielder provided the assist for Son’s crucial second goal and looked a creative threat in moments.

He showed off the kind of individual ability that everyone is aware he possesses with the ball at his feet and he’s capable of driving his team up the pitch, but defensively he played his part too and was full of running to help his side out.

It’s also worth noting he played the full 90 minutes for just the third time this season in 22 appearances.
