Michail Antonio shares whether he'll celebrate if he scores against Nottingham Forest this season

West Ham United forward Michail Antonio has admitted he won’t celebrate if he scores against Nottingham Forest this season.

The 32-year-old joined the Hammers from the City Ground outfit back in September 2015 for a reported £7million.

Antonio spent just over one season at Forest, joining the Reds from Sheffield Wednesday in 2014 for a reported £1.5million.

The striker registered an impressive 19 goals and 15 assists in 54 appearances for Forest.

Seven years on from leaving the City Ground, Antonio’s West Ham will take on his former side in the Premier League.

The Hammers will take on Forest in Nottingham on Sunday 14 August, while the reverse fixture in London is next February.

Antonio spoke about Forest alongside Callum Wilson on the latest episode of The Footballer’s Football Podcast on BBC Sounds.

When asked whether he’d celebrate against Forest, he said: “Nah, I’m not going to lie, Forest I loved my time there.

“I’m not going to lie – I loved my time at Forest.

“It was one season but it was an unbelievable season and I’ve kept an eye on them ever since.

“I couldn’t believe it when they got promoted, I’m so buzzing.

“I’ve got them second game of the season and it feels weird to me going back there to play against them and I don’t know why it is.”

Forest fans will no doubt like that their former marksman has no plans to celebrate against them.

Nonetheless, Steve Cooper and his charges will try to make sure Antonio has no goals to celebrate when they share a pitch over the coming months.
