West Ham United winger Michail Antonio is facing up to four months on the sidelines following surgery on his hamstring injury, according to the Sun.
They report that the Englishman had surgery yesterday on the injury that forced him out of the EFL Cup victory over Newport.
And apparently, following that, Antonio will apparently be out for between three or four months as he seeks to recover.
That means he could miss half of West Ham’s season and not return until after Christmas, although he will likely be making every effort to come back as soon as possible.

TBR’s View – Antonio’s versatility will be missed more than anything
Antonio likely doesn’t get into West Ham’s best eleven when everyone is fit but the fact he can always slot in and offer 100 per cent in a variety of roles makes him such a valuable asset.
For example, the Hammers have decided to let Javier Hernandez go – understandably, given how much he was earning and the fact he’s not first choice – but Antonio’s injury leaves them slightly light up front.
Similarly, Antonio is always good as a hard-working wide option and it is that ability to put in a solid shift in an array of positions that Manuel Pellegrini will likely miss most.
