Michail Antonio was the West Ham hero once again this afternoon as his late, late winner ensured the Hammers took all three points back to London.
The pacey striker struck for the Hammers at Elland Road to ensure a great comeback win for David Moyes’ men. It was another fine result for Antonio and his team, who have started the season well once more.
A win, as we all know, is tough to get in Leeds. The crowd make it hard, while Marcelo Bielsa’s intense style of play makes life even more difficult.

And speaking after the game today, Hammers star Antonio paid Leeds a huge compliment by suggesting it’s like ‘running a marathon’ against Bielsa’s side.
Antonio praises Leeds after West Ham win
Humble as ever, the West Ham striker was quick to sum up how he felt after the win. And while he had an overriding feeling of relief, Antonio paid tribute to Leeds’ efforts.
“Nothing’s better than coming down from one down. Especially against Leeds, who are a quality team,” Antonio told Football Daily.
“Running a marathon. That’s a great explanation. I will never run a marathon. And that’s the closest thing for me. It was so hard, man. They play man v man. They work to the end and work tirelessly. Quality team.”
TBR’s View: Leeds struggling…but should be fine
Antonio’s words here ring true. Leeds make it so hard for teams so it’s almost impossible not to be impressed when someone wins at Elland Road.
The striker took his chance brilliantly but he had to work for it.
For Leeds, yes, they’re struggling. But they’ll win more games than they lose if they carry on and get everyone fit. The winless run, however, won’t be pleasing Marcelo Bielsa.
