Michail Antonio has predicted Everton will be relegated this season

Michail Antonio has predicted Everton will be relegated, telling The Footballer’s Football Podcast that the Toffees will not be used to the pressure of being involved in the fight to stay in the Premier League.

As it stands, it appears that the battle to stay in the Premier League is going to go down to the wire. Everton sit in the bottom three. However, Frank Lampard’s side beat Chelsea in their most recent game.

And Everton have a game in hand over Leeds and Burnley, who are both two points clear. It does appear that the momentum may be with Everton and Burnley, with the Clarets going on a remarkable run and winning three in a row.

Leeds have the worst goal difference by some way. And they face Arsenal and Chelsea in their next two. Nevertheless, Antonio believes that it will be Everton who fail to get themselves out of trouble.

“Burnley are in and around it but the way they have played right now, I didn’t even include them in the three, because I feel they are going to be safe,” he told The Footballer’s Football Podcast.

“I actually think it could be Everton because they’re not used to being down there or being in this fight.
They’re used to being higher up the table and looking up, looking down is a completely different pressure and I don’t know if they can get themselves out of it.”

It does appear that there is at least one more twist to come. It is out of Leeds’ hands, and they have potentially the worst run.

But all three teams have been written off at some stage. And any suggestion that 35 points may be enough to stay up has been blown out of the water.

There have been some freak results, and there are likely to be plenty more to come.
