Michail Antonio is now backing Arsenal to win the Premier League title over Liverpool and Manchester City this season.

Arsenal currently lead the way in the Premier League after both Liverpool and Manchester City had to settle for a point at Anfield last weekend.

Mikel Arteta has guided the Gunners to eight consecutive wins in the league this year, leaving Arsenal above both Jurgen Klopp and Pep Guardiola’s sides.

With 10 games left to play, it looks set to be a memorable title race as there is little to separate all three sides.

Indeed, Arsenal currently sit above Liverpool on goal difference, with both sides just a point ahead of the reigning champions City.

And while Michail Antonio has been backing City to retain their title all season, he’s changed his mind after Arsenal’s recent performances.

Antonio backs Arsenal to win the Premier League title

Speaking on The Footballer’s Football Podcast, Antonio explained why he’s changed his mind about the title race recently.

“I don’t think City are going to do it this year,” the West Ham United star said. “I’ve been saying since the turn of the year City are doing it but how Arsenal have been performing, they have become the City of the last three years, since the turn of the year.

“They have done the complete opposite of what they did last year when they started the season until December bossing it and then turn of the year, crumbled. Whereas they’ve come to the business end of the year and they have completely and utter turned it on.”

He added: “10 games is a lot but they’re doing what City have done and they’re not doing it easy. They’re bagging!

“They’re not coasting through games, they’re taking the mick. They are just bagging for fun, scoring goals.”

Fulham’s Tom Cairney that he believes Arsenal can’t play badly and continue to win, unlike City.

“City don’t do that either,” Antonio responded. “What I’m saying is, they’re scoring fours or fives.

“When you look at the last few years, City were scoring when it came to the end of the season, they were scoring…”

Antonio then predicted his top-four this season and he believes Liverpool will finish second, with City in third place and Tottenham taking fourth.

You could make the case for each team having a strong chance of lifting the title come May.

Arsenal have been exceptional in recent weeks and seem to be finding their best form at an ideal time.

As for City, they have been here many times before and are capable of putting a brilliant run of form together.

With Liverpool, they will be even more motivated to be crowned champions come May as Klopp prepares for his departure this summer.

We’ll certainly get a good indication of where the title is heading over the coming weeks and Arsenal’s trip to City on March 31 looks set to be a defining clash.
