Jarrod Bowen may have bagged a hat-trick for West Ham United on Monday, but it is another member of the squad Michail Antonio has labelled a joke.
The Hammers picked up an important win against Brentford at the start of the week. It was their first victory in any competition in 2024. They had lost their previous three games, conceding 11 goals and failing to score once.
Unsurprisingly, Jarrod Bowen stole many of the headlines, with his three goals against the Bees. But he was not the only player to really impress Michail Antonio.
Michail Antonio lauds Mohammed Kudus
Speaking on The Footballer’s Football Podcast, the West Ham forward noted that he was amazed by the performance of summer signing Mohammed Kudus.

“Kudus. Kudos! He is something else,” he said. “The guy is just pulling strings. He was trying to get his goal and taking some mad shots but the boy was danger. The way he dribbles, he’s so strong, rolls man for fun. Absolute joke.”
One of West Ham’s best players
There is absolutely no question that Kudus has been one of the major positives from this season for the Irons. He, of course, was one of the players to arrive following the sale of Declan Rice.
And he has arguably been the most exciting addition of the lot. Kudus has scored nine goals in 29 games in all competitions for the Irons. That includes six strikes in the Premier League, when he took some time to find his way into the starting lineup.
The 23-year-old is definitely one of the players who has the potential to take West Ham back up the table.
Given his age and the fact that this is his first season in the Premier League, there is little reason why Kudus cannot improve considerably over the next few years.
Certainly, Antonio is excited about his future.
