Michael Dawson expects Jose Mourinho’s winning start as Tottenham manager to extend on Wednesday night and feels his former club did a great job in appointing a serial winner.
Mourinho has a 100 per cent win record after his opening three games in charge, which has helped Spurs climb up the league table and also qualify from their Champions League group.
They currently sit sixth in the league table and travel to Old Trafford to face Manchester United on Wednesday evening.
Mourinho will be returning to United in the away dugout after being sacked by them last December and it’s a change for some personal revenge.
Ex-Spurs defender Dawson has predicted another three points for the North London outfit on Wednesday when they travel to Manchester, which may help them close the gap to fourth-placed Chelsea.
“It was a bold decision [to get rid of Mauricio Pochettino], but Jose’s record wherever he’s been is incredible. For Spurs to get someone like him,” Dawson told BBC Radio 5 Live Sport.
“Since he’s gone in he’s winning games, getting the feel good factor again and tonight I think they’ll beat Man United and keep that run going.”
Dawson has been impressed with the way Mourinho has galvanised the Spurs dressing room and it certainly appears like they have their confidence back.
There is an incredible forward line at the club that have started scoring freely, but they have to tighten up defensively for their trip to United.
Mourinho has famously made great starts when taking charge of clubs and it seems like players are loving a fresh challenge under him, but they are facing potentially their toughest game so far of his short tenure.
