Michael Dawson has told Gillette Soccer Special (broadcast on Sky Sports; 16/12; 22:11) of his admiration for Andy Robertson following Liverpool’s stunning win over Tottenham on Wednesday.
The Reds have gone back to the top of the Premier League. They had taken the lead through Mohamed Salah during the first-half. But Spurs scored an equaliser shortly after.

It appeared that a draw was on the cards with the visitors set to remain at the summit of the table. However, Roberto Firmino produced a fantastic header as stoppage-time loomed to settle the game.
It was Robertson who provided the assist with a brilliant cross. The Scot now has four assists in the league this season – twice as many as any of his teammates.

And Dawson – who played alongside the full-back at Hull – was full of praise for his performance and the vital moment of quality against his old club.
“A player I know really well, I’ve played with him, he’s come on leaps and bounds and is arguably one of the best left-backs in the world at this moment in time,” he told Soccer Special. “He has been absolutely incredible since he went there. And the ball for the goal for Firmino was fantastic.”
It was a huge statement of intent from Jurgen Klopp’s side. They dominated possession and had more than double the number of attempts on goal Spurs managed.
What is so frightening is that Liverpool still have players to come back from injury. And there have been times when it seems like they have several gears to still go through.
And yet, they are now top of the table having beaten the side who had been setting the pace.
