Michael Chopra claims on Twitter that Steve Bruce will leave Newcastle this summer

Michael Chopra has responded on Twitter to Steve Bruce’s comments about Newcastle United’s impending takeover by stating that he reckons the current manager will leave the club at the end of the season – and Toon fans have responded.

A takeover is reportedly edging closer with the Saudi-backed bid currently at the Premier League checks stage. It is believed that is close to completion, though the global health crisis is proving a stumbling block in terms of getting a deal done.

Amid the potential new owners looking to replace Mike Ashley, Newcastle have been linked with a heap of new managers to replace Bruce. Mauricio Pochettino, Max Allegri, Andre Villas-Boas and plenty more have been linked.

Former Newcastle striker Chopra, who is renowned for being against the decision to replace Rafa Benitez with Bruce – has responded to Bruce’s comments on a takeover by telling the current boss that he will be gone at the end of the season.

While plenty of managers have been linked, The Independent claim that Bruce will certainly take the reigns until the end of the season and given that Newcastle have done well under his stewardship, he may be given a chance going forward.

Newcastle supporters have reacted on Twitter to their former striker’s Tweet and many have lambasted Chopra for his disrespectful lack of support for a manager that remains in the Toon job.
