Michael Chopra absolutely blasts Steve Bruce as Newcastle lose, fans react

Michael Chopra has labelled Newcastle United manager Steve Bruce as “embarrassing” on Twitter after The Toon suffered a humiliating 5-0 defeat to Leicester City on Sunday afternoon.

Ricardo Pereira’s solo effort, a brace from on-fire Jamie Vardy, a Paul Dummett own goal and a late Wilfried Ndidi effort succumbed Newcastle to a terrible day at the office – which also saw Isaac Hayden sent off for a foul on Dennis Praet.

Newcastle looked as though they were going to offer nothing until the red card, and were completely powerless to avoid defeat or even attempt to change the scoreline after Hayden was sent for an early bath.

Former Newcastle striker Chopra, who has been very vocal about the ongoings at Newcastle in recent months, described new manager Bruce as “embarrassing” on Twitter – asking where his attacking brand of football is.

The defeat sees Newcastle now sit in a lowly 19th place in the Premier League, with just five points from a possible 21. Little looks as though it will change under Bruce, and Sunday’s showing against Leicester was proof.

Newcastle fans reacted to Chopra’s Tweet as Toon fans vented their anger and frustration on social media following the comfortable win for Leicester, which sees the Foxes rise into third place.
