Michael Brown has suggested that Leeds United may not need to overhaul of their squad in the summer transfer window if they do achieve promotion.
The Whites are currently sat top of the Championship table as it stands hunting down automatic promotion, with nine games left in their season to try get over the line.
Marcelo Bielsa’s team have a seven-point cushion over third-placed Fulham that they will be hoping to extend and are in a positive place after winning the last five league games in a row.
The Yorkshire giants are under pressure to bring top-flight football back to Elland Road for the first time since 2004 and it would be intriguing to see the club’s transfer business if they were preparing for the Premier League next season.
Ex-Leeds midfielder Brown has suggested his former side already have a strong group together in the Championship and a similar squad could compete in the top-flight, perhaps with a couple of new faces.
“If they can just get over the line [with promotion] then they can look to build in the summer,” Brown told the Express.
“You look at Sheffield United and the job they’ve done. They’ve got some improvements and signed some players. But the bulk of the squad have gone and done it [in the Premier League]. So why not Leeds United?”

TBR’s View:
Leeds fans won’t allow themselves to dream of potential signings until they can clinch promotion, something which is beginning to look more likely each week and their next two fixtures could tell everyone a lot about their future.
They travel to Cardiff City on Sunday afternoon, before a major home fixture a few days later on Wednesday night against Fulham.
Bielsa certainly has a unique style that the players in his squad have taken time to adapt to, but they arguably play the most eye-catching football in the Championship and would surely be able to hold their own against teams in the top-flight.
They have seen Sheffield United compete for a European spot this season on their return to the Premier League and they have have kept a similar group, but on the flip side so did Norwich City and they find themselves bottom of the table.
