Rangers coach Michael Beale was amongst those to send a message congratulating Greg Docherty after the midfielder became a title-winner in his first year away from Ibrox.
Docherty seemed to be an incredibly popular member of the Gers squad amongst the fans. The 24-year-old looked destined for an impressive spell at Ibrox after arriving in 2018.
However, he was unable to really break into Steven Gerrard’s plans. He enjoyed two impressive loan spells before being given the green light to leave permanently in the summer.
Docherty ended up at Hull for an initial fee of around £400,000 (via Sky Sports). And it appears that the move is one that all parties can be reflect upon as being a fantastic piece of business.
Rangers, of course, have gone on to enjoy an incredible season. They have won the Scottish Premiership at a canter. And they produced some colossal displays in the Europa League.
Docherty meanwhile, is heading to the Championship in England. Like Rangers, Hull have clinched their league title, with Grant McCann’s men getting across the line at the weekend.
Docherty reacted to a video on social media showing the moment Hull’s title win became official, expressing his pride at being part of the ranks.
And Beale was amongst those to congratulate the youngster, with the Rangers coach sending a classy message to the midfielder…
