Mohamed Salah is widely considered to be one of the best players in the world.

Indeed, Salah has been in Ballon d’Or winning form this season, and there’s no doubt about it, Salah is a world-class player.

However, somehow, Salah is still seen as underrated by some.

Speaking to the Baller League on TikTok, Micah Richards has been building his perfect footballer made up of a number of different attributes, and he’s made quite an interesting claim about Salah.

Micah Richards says Mohamed Salah’s first touch is underrated

Richards was asked to build his perfect footballer made up of a number of stats.

Richards, understandably, chose David Silva for flair, while he picked Salah for his first touch, claiming that aspect of the Egyptian’s game is actually quite underrated.

“First touch?” Richards was asked.

“You know what, I’m going to go with Mo Salah, his first touch is crazy, he’s got an underrated first touch Mo Salah,” Richards said.

Micah Richards record alongside Mohamed Salah

Richards has always been a fan of Salah, and these two are actually friends from their time together at Fiorentina.

Indeed, once upon a time, Salah and Richards played together down the right wing over in Italy, and they actually had a brilliant record together.

Richards and Salah, more often than not, were on the winning team when they played on the same side, while, inevitably, Salah was banging in the goals in front of Richards who was doing a great job in terms of keeping clean sheets.

Richards and Salah didn’t play together all that often, but they did form a strong partnership that helped Fiorentina to a certain level of success back in the 2014/15 season.

Salah has since gone on to become one of the very best players on the planet, while Richards is long-retired and has made a seamless transition into a punditry role with both Sky Sports and the BBC.
