Micah Richards has told The Monday Night Club that Malik Tillman was the player who stood out when he watched Rangers as the Ibrox side booked their ticket to the Champions League group-stages.
Tillman has made a brilliant start to life on loan at Ibrox. The USMNT international joined the Gers from Bayern Munich.

Of course, Rangers have not had the best record with loan deals involving fellow heavyweights in the last few months. Neither Aaron Ramsey or Amad Diallo proved to be successes after they moved to Ibrox in January.
But any concerns over Tillman have surely been put to bed already. The 20-year-old has been superb so far. And it was his assist that led to the decisive goal in their Champions League play-off tie with PSV Eindhoven.

Richards was watching the game. The pundit was discussing the progress that the two Scottish Premiership giants have made in recent years. And he suggested that signing Tillman is looking to be a real coup for Rangers.
“One player that stood out for me was Tillman. He has got a special ability. He was driving from midfield, he was pressing, he was setting up chances. And he’s only 20,” he told The Monday Night Club.
“I was looking at his stats and he’s on loan from Bayern Munich as well. So to get that sort of player, normally in the past, he’d probably want to come to the Premier League. But he’s going to Rangers. And it just shows how well the two are doing.”
Malik Tillman stood out
Rangers also have the opportunity to keep Tillman beyond his loan spell. As reported by The Athletic, the Gers have an exclusive option to sign the youngster permanently.
Crucially however, Bayern Munich also have a buy-back clause. So there is a chance that he could join Rangers permanently, only to make an immediate return to Bavaria in the summer.
He has already had a huge impact at Ibrox by providing that assist against PSV. That could help the Gers take that next step in their development as a side.
And it seems that there is a lot more to come from Tillman.
