Micah Richards has told 90min that Brenden Aaronson is his one Premier League player to watch this season, and suggested that the youngster is perfect for the style Leeds United adopt.

There has been a lot of intrigue surrounding the Whites’ window. They have been one of the busier sides in the Premier League this summer.

However, they lost arguably their two best players in Kalvin Phillips and Raphinha. With the funds made however, Leeds have been able to make a number of signings.

The first was Aaronson. The USMNT international arrived shortly after survival was secured.

Those who have wanted to criticise Leeds have pointed out that they have signed a number of players without Premier League experience.

The early signs however, are positive. Leeds won their opening game against Wolves at Elland Road this season. And Aaronson was the star of the show in the 2-1 victory.

Certainly, Richards is excited for what the attacking midfielder could do this season. The pundit picked out the 21-year-old when asked to name the player to watch out for in the Premier League during this campaign.

“Aaronson without fail, he’s the one to watch,” he told 90min. “Just because a lot of players you can see they’re hiding, he doesn’t hide. He gets on the ball wherever. And I think with the tempo Leeds want to play at Elland Road with all the new signings, I think it’s going to gel nicely.”

Aaronson proved a real point in his debut. He was arguably Leeds’ best player. And what was most impressive was how good he looked alongside the likes of Rodrigo, Patrick Bamford and Jack Harrison.

He has settled in brilliantly. And if his debut is indeed a sign of what is to come, Leeds will be able to reflect on at least one transfer masterstroke from this window.
