Arsenal have been brilliant in recent weeks.
The international break may have halted the Gunners’ momentum a tad, but we mustn’t forget, before this pause, the north London club were on a serious unbeaten run and are still sitting pretty at the top of the Premier League.
Arsenal’s good form as of late has coincided with an uptick in form from Kai Havertz, and speaking on the BBC Match of the Day Top 10 Podcast, Micah Richards has been discussing the 24-year-old.

Micah Richards says Kai Havertz doesn’t look like he’s working hard
Richards spoke glowingly of Havertz, claiming that he’s a brilliant player.
However, this praise came alongside another interesting piece of analysis as Richards says that Havertz also doesn’t look like he’s working hard at times due to his laid-back approach to the game at times.
“Havertz, he’s the perfect example. The way he’s just effortless, he doesn’t look like he’s working hard does he? He’s not doing anything. Havertz is a brilliant player, yeah he could do more,” Richards said.
Kai Havertz has an interesting style
Richards is right, Kai Havertz doesn’t look as though he’s working hard sometimes, but that’s more due to his style rather than a lack of effort.
Rather than sprinting around the pitch like a madman, Havertz is more of an assessor, he will spot potential threats and weaknesses and act when appropriate rather than sprinting after every pass or making every run when it’s not necessary.
Yes, he doesn’t work as hard as some physically, but make no mistake about it, his brain is working overtime on the pitch, and that’s why he’s so often in the right place to occupy defenders or get on the end of crosses.
Say what you will about Havertz’s style of play, but he’s just as effective as any other player who covers more ground.
